Ziyaad Samodien is an artist who hopes to one day study graphic design, but for now, he’s a powerlifter. Just as his drawings are a part of him manifesting, so are his strong work ethic, focus and strategic thinking. We watch him train ahead of a national competition where he hopes to break a powerlifting world record. This sport has allowed Ziyaad to explore his uniqueness as an adopted child. His body is the only connection he has to his birth parents and through his exploration of it, he hopes it will unlock parts of his past.
